Margaret Howard Theatre Schools offer training to children from aged three years through to school leaving age.
MHTS aims to provide high quality teaching and a positive learning experience to all who attend. We ask pupils and parents to adhere to the Terms and Conditions that are in place for safety and the smooth running of the Schools on a daily basis.

UNIFORM
By submitting an Enrolment Form the Fee Payer/Signatory on the form will be deemed to have accepted the Terms and Conditions as described here. MHTS adheres to a PRIVACY POLICY and to a SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY both of which are available on the website and must be read and accepted before Enrolment is completed.
Pupils will not be able to attend a class – other than a Trial Class – until the Enrolment Form has been received.

INVOICING, PAYMENT AND ATTENDANCE
- Invoices are sent in advance of the start of each term.
- Fees are payable by a required date which is published on the Invoice
- If fees are not paid by the proscribed date a late payment fee will be added to the account - £10 for fees outstanding over £101.00 and 10% for fees outstanding amounting to under £100.00
- Invoices will be sent to the email address detailed on the Enrolment Form. This can be changed if notified in writing by email [email protected]
- Once enrolled termly fees are payable and it is the responsibility of the Fee Payer to notify MHTS if they do not receive an Invoice prior to the start of term. If the problem is found to be with MHTS any late payment fees will be waived.
- Refunds will not be given under any circumstances except at the discretion of Margaret F. Howard
- If a class is cancelled by MHTS a suitable refund will be made to a pupil’s account or the class in question will be made up at a time determined by the relevant teacher.
- Illness – refunds will only be considered in the case of severe or prolonged illness or accident. Pupils should attend classes where possible to watch and learn.
- If absence to exam classes can be predicted classes can be made up by attending alternatives. This must be agreed with the Head of School in advance to ensure suitability.
- Payment can be made by bank transfer, monthly standing order or cash. Full bank details may be found on the Invoice.
- In the case of severe weather where classes continue no refund will be made. If MHTS cancel classes due to extreme weather conditions, or other similar emergencies, details will be notified on our website and through social media pages. sites. In some cases texts or emails may be sent.
FEES AND NOTICE
- Fees are reviewed annually in June and any changes will be notified in the first Invoice for the academic year which will be delivered in July prior to the September Term.
- Once enrolled MHTS requires written notice to change or leave a class. Six weeks/half a term is required. If this is not given MHTS reserves the right to charge fees in lieu of notice. Verbal notice/discussion with a teacher is not accepted.
- At the end of the academic year it will be assumed that all pupils will return in September. If a pupil will not be returning then notice in writing must be given by 1st August.
- Pupils that intend to take time out for Exams are also required to give notice in writing of their intentions. Unless this is received it will be assumed that they remain on the Class Lists.
PERSONAL INFORMATION
- Parents/Guardians must keep MHTS up to date with any relevant medical or other information that might affect the pupil in the course of daily lessons
- MHTS Staff cannot dispense medication
- All pupils attend MHTS at their own risk and details of all existing or medical conditions must be disclosed
- Pupils should notify their Teacher of any new issues they may have before a class starts
LOST PROPERTY
- MHTS keeps a Lost property box where items left at the Studios will be stored and available until the end of term at which time the box will be emptied and the contents disposed of.
- MHTS cannot accept responsibility for personal property and it is requested that pupils do not bring items of value to class
TEACHING STAFF
- MHTS Staff reserve the right to exclude any pupil who is disruptive or affecting the wellbeing of other pupils and who is contravening the Terms and Conditions
- MHTS reserves the right to replace a teacher with another of similar or suitable qualifications should the need arise. There will be no formal notice of any change.
- Pupils should arrive in good time for a class and teachers reserve the right not to admit a pupil if they are late eg. If Warm Up has finished it may not be appropriate for a pupil to join the class as they may sustain injury. Admittance will be at the discretion of the Teacher.
- Whilst in class MHTS will be responsible for the pupils placed in their care.
- MHTS provides teaching assistance at a variety of classes. No pupil under the age of 8 years will be permitted to leave class unattended
- Pupils must be collected promptly at the end of classes unless prior arrangement has been made. Teachers cannot be held responsible for the care of pupils after class
- MHTS reserves the right to challenge any person collecting a child that they do not recognise or who provide concern.
- Examinations are held regularly. Pupils will only be entered at the discretion of the Teacher.
MHTS DATES OF IMPORTANCE
- Term and Holiday dates are displayed on the website and can also be found on individual invoices
- Pupils will be considered to be taking part in all internal performances and events arranged by the School and parents will need to OPT OUT eg. Shows, Open Day classes etc. Full information of each event will be published in advance.
- External performing opportunities will be administered on an individual basis. Auditions may be necessary
- A Year Planner detailing all the events of the academic year is published on the website
- Exam dates will be notified as soon as they are available
UNIFORM
- MHTS has a uniform all of which is available for purchase through the website.
- Correct uniform must be worn at all times to all classes including Acting, Singing and Private Lessons
- MHTS uniform must be worn to all events as required
- The wearing of jewellery is forbidden and MHTS reserves the right to ask pupils to remove items that may cause harm or injury to themselves or others in the class
- Hair must be tied back in an appropriate style eg classical bun for Ballet
