MHTS PROTOCOL FOR PROTECTION AGAINST THE SPREAD OF COVID-19 CORONAVIRUS
GENERAL PROTOCOL
1. Limit interpersonal contact as much as possible - do not shake hands, air kiss or hug - and where possible and practical, socially distance yourself from other people. A minimum of 1 metre distance should be observed.
2. Use a tissue to capture a sneeze or cough or use the crook of your arm. If you feel ill with a new persistent cough, develop a fever or lose of the taste or smell please go home immediately and self-isolate for a minimum of 14 days. Please email to inform us that you are ill.
ENTERING THE BUILDING
1. On entry please wipe your feet thoroughly. No outdoor shoes will be allowed in any of the studios. There are designated shoe racks at each entrance for all pupils to use while on the premises.
2. Only pupils taking classes will be allowed in the building, all parents and guardians MUST drop off and collect from designated collection points.
3. Please use the hand sanitisers on arrival and when leaving the building.
4. All staff and pupils will have their temperature taken upon entering the building and MHTS will refuse entry to anyone showing a temperature greater than 37.8 C
5. Any parent/guardian required to enter the building must ring the bell and wait for a member of the Office to greet you. All visitors must wear a mask and use the hand sanitisers provided.
6. Anyone showing symptoms of COVID-19 will not be allowed into the building and must seek medical assistance and request a test if accessible before returning (signed declaration)
STUDIOS
1. Regular breaks between individual sessions will be made to help maintain and supply fresh air ventilation.
2. No food or drink to be consumed in the studios unless for reasons stated in writing in advance.
3. Dance shoes should be cleaned and washed regularly between daily sessions.
4. Each studio has a cleaning kit and all MHTS staff have been trained to follow the procedures to ensure all equipment and touch points are cleaned and sanitised regularly.
CHANGING ROOMS
1. There will be limited use of the changing room and communal areas.
2. Pupils are advised to arrive changed and ready in advance for the relevant activity with limited bags and valuables.
3. The changing room area can be used as a study space for pupils who have gaps between classes but social distancing must be kept at all times. The MHTS Office must be informed in writing to [email protected] of any pupil wishing to use this space.
TOILETS
1. Each studio has a designated toilet to avoid cross contamination.
2. Please wash your hands using soap and water when using any of the bathroom facilities.
3. MHTS Staff are allocated a separate toilet from the pupils.
SYMPTOMS & PROCEDURE
1. In the event that a member of staff or a pupil develops symptoms of COVID-19 , the individual must go home immediately and must get a free NHS test done as soon as possible.
2. If a member of staff or a pupil develops symptoms after being in the building, the MHTS Office must be informed immediately and all those who may have been affected will be notified by us using the Track and Trace digital system.
3. All classes will be made available online for any pupil required to isolate.
4. Pupils will be allowed back when informed to do so by a member of staff in the MHTS Office.
5. Any cancelled classes due to staff illness will be made up at a next convenient date stated in writing.
THE FOLLOWING PRECAUTIONS WILL BE TAKEN BY MHO
1. All surfaces will be regularly wiped down with anti-bacterial wipes - door handles, door entry key pads, banisters, desks, computer screens, telephones, keyboards, ballet barres, card machines, the coffee machine, kitchen surfaces, sinks and washroom surfaces, music equipment, pianos.....
2. The Studios will be cleaned daily by contract cleaners who have been recently trained to recognise the high risk areas due to COVID-19.
3. Signage with help, information and general reminders about cleanliness has been placed around the Studios and specifically in wash rooms.
4. Loose items that can gather dust or other particles will be cleared eg. decor from washrooms and kitchen appliances to minimise the need for wiping clean and to improve the process generally.
5. The Studios will remain open unless there is a Government Directive or if local schools close.
Any additional cleaning or protectional procedures that are undertaken by any user of the Studios are welcomed and any assistance required should please be directed to the MHO Office.
